Some things don't stay hidden...

Burnt-out Private Investigator, Alex Craigh takes a job from a mysterious commercial organisation, to locate the whereabouts of one of their operatives. She has recently disappeared somewhere along the border between Northeast China and Southeast Russia whilst researching reports of sightings of a mythical blue tiger, which some locals have long revered as a deity. Craigh is reluctant to travel in his current exhausted mental state but takes the job after being struck by how the missing operative looks uncannily like a younger version of his wife, Shona, who disappeared shortly after their marriage many years before.

With very little to go on and dealing with his own demons, Craigh starts to come apart as he travels further into the forests lining the border. Eventually he reaches a settlement where the villagers claim that the mythical Blue Tiger resides upon the mountain close by. Striking out towards the mountain at night, Cragh finds no trace of the Blue Tiger but instead finds a stash of eerily glowing blue stone discs. Pocketing some of them he is suddenly overcome by a wave of fear and runs, terrified, back down the mountain. When he reaches the village and examines the stone discs he’s horrified to discover that they’ve multiplied. The villagers chase him from the village when they discover what he has and Craigh eventually returns home but can find no trace of the company who sent him out to Northeast Asia in the first place. He becomes obsessed with the endlessly replicating blue stones and starts to lose his mind, haunted by visions of his wife and the company operative he was sent to find.
